The evening began with a mesmerizing invitation as we approached Taksim’s entrance, where the gentle hum of conversation mingled with the rich aroma of spiced meats and freshly baked bread. A welcoming smile from the host signaled the high standard of service we were about to experience. We were guided to our table, which afforded a view of the open kitchen—a vibrant spectacle of chefs deftly orchestrating their craft, a rhythm of sizzling pans and clinking utensils. Our surroundings exuded a contemporary Mediterranean charm, characterized by warm wood accents and soft, ambient lighting that shifted gracefully as the sun dipped below the horizon. The decor, a blend of rustic and modern, created an inviting atmosphere that encouraged both laughter and intimate conversation.
As we settled in, the soundscape transitioned from the day’s bustle to a more relaxed cadence, with subtle music enhancing the overall mood without overpowering the gentle clatter of dishes being served. The menu beckoned with a modern twist on authentic Mediterranean fare, skillfully curated to highlight seasonal Californian produce. We opted for the seven-course tasting menu, a decision that unveiled a symphony of flavors, each dish a thoughtful homage to the culinary traditions of the Balkans and Anatolia. The first course, a velvety carrot and ginger soup, was a delightful prelude, showcasing the kitchen’s commitment to balance and freshness. As we savored the silky texture, our server, with a playful demeanor, shared insights into the evening’s offerings, enhancing our anticipation for what lay ahead.
One standout moment arrived with the arrival of the Patlican—a beautifully presented eggplant dish, its smoky notes complemented by a drizzle of tahini. The crunch of the shrimp, dusted with a delicate spice blend, was equally memorable, adding a satisfying texture that contrasted with the creamy dips we had been served alongside warm, fluffy pita. As the evening wore on, the energy in the tables shifted from relaxed to celebratory, with laughter echoing off the walls, punctuated by the clinking of glasses filled with expertly chosen wines from a thoughtfully curated list. Our experience at Taksim revealed a culinary narrative that flowed seamlessly, each course thoughtfully paced, encouraging us to linger and savor every bite. The service rhythm was attentive yet unobtrusive, allowing us to feel both special and at ease. As we finished our final course, a delicate branzino with its crispy skin, we felt the warmth of the staff’s genuine hospitality—a hallmark of this vibrant establishment. Our concierge recommends reserving a table during the golden hour, just before sunset, to fully appreciate the ambiance as the space transforms with the fading light.

As soon as we walked in, the smells of deliciousness hit our noses. The staff were very welcoming and also brought over a carrot/ginger soup shot as a little welcome item which was a very nice touch. Throughout the meal the service was stellar.
The food itself was also very good. The flower bread is super soft, airy and the sumac butter just takes it to a whole new level. The dip trio was also a very good idea. You've had these dips before I'm sure, but Taksim's are even better.
The cocktails and wine list are also impressive with some winners along the way. The Black Salt Blaze and the Peachy Bazaar were both very good!
Can't wait tot go back!!
