Profile
The culinary philosophy at Lapisara Eatery is a harmonious blend of Thai-American influences, where each dish is crafted not merely to nourish but to celebrate life’s everyday moments. As you approach the eatery, the inviting aroma of spices wafting from the kitchen envelops you, drawing you in with an almost magnetic pull. The warm, welcoming ambiance invites both familiar faces and curious newcomers, with vibrant colors adorning the walls, soft lighting casting a golden hue on the polished tabletops, and a cheerful hum of conversation creating a lively soundscape. Our arrival was greeted by a gracious host whose genuine smile immediately set the tone for the experience ahead. The seating arrangement, a mix of cozy corner tables and communal spots, fosters an atmosphere of intimacy while encouraging a sense of community.
We chose a table by the window, allowing the soft morning light to dance across our plates, illuminating the vivid colors of the dishes that would soon arrive. The decor is a delightful nod to both cultures, with Thai artwork subtly integrated into a modern design, creating a space that feels both familiar and refreshingly unique. As we settled in, the rhythm of service unfolded with an effortless grace; our server was attentive yet unobtrusive, guiding us through the menu with enthusiasm. The beverage program is nothing short of noteworthy, featuring inventive twists on classic drinks. The ube latte, with its whimsical purple hue, is both a feast for the eyes and a comforting sip, while the iced Thai tea offers a refreshing contrast, its rich, creamy texture perfectly balancing the spices.
The menu is a tapestry of flavors, and we found ourselves captivated by dishes that pay homage to traditional recipes while infusing them with a contemporary twist. The Thai Panang omelette, a standout, arrives with a visually stunning presentation—a canvas of vibrant colors, adorned with tender beef, crisp vegetables, and a drizzle of luscious sauce that beckons you to savor every bite. Equally impressive, the chicken and waffles offer a playful reinterpretation, the savory elements masterfully complementing the sweet, fluffy waffles in a way that surprises and delights. As the meal progressed, the energy of the tables swelled, laughter mingling with the clinking of cutlery, creating a convivial atmosphere that made us want to linger just a little longer. Each course arrived with a thoughtful pacing, allowing us to savor the experience, and our conversation flowed as freely as the delightful flavors from the kitchen. Our concierge recommends arriving early to secure a prime table by the window, where you can fully immerse yourself in the lively ambiance while enjoying the exquisite Thai Panang omelette paired with the enchanting ube latte—an ideal way to start your day in San Francisco.

The restaurant is family ran and the staff is incredibly nice and friendly. They also have bottomless mimosas.
I don’t have a critical thing to say about this dish. If you like spicy and bursting flavors, it’s a must have.
