Upon entering Hotel Santika Batam, we were immediately enveloped by an atmosphere that expertly balances comfort with the vibrancy of the city. The lobby, adorned with traditional Indonesian motifs, exudes a sense of cultural pride, inviting guests to take a moment to appreciate the intricate woodwork and local artistry that celebrates the region. Gentle lighting casts a soft glow over the polished marble floors, creating an inviting ambience that is both sophisticated and relaxed. As we made our way through check-in, the staff demonstrated a remarkable choreography of service—each movement purposeful and attentive. Our welcoming experience was marked by the friendly demeanor of the reception team, who efficiently handled our paperwork while offering recommendations on local attractions. The location is particularly advantageous, being just a stone’s throw from the bustling Batam Ferry Centre and close to various shopping and entertainment venues. Stepping into our room, we were greeted by a calming palette of muted earth tones, complemented by plush furnishings that beckon for relaxation. The bed, layered with fine linens, promised restful nights, while the large windows offered a splendid view of the harbor, inviting the soft morning light to pour in. A standout feature was the spacious bathroom, where modern fixtures met traditional design elements—think sleek, rainfall showers juxtaposed with artisanal tiles. Thoughtful amenities such as complimentary bottled water and a well-stocked minibar added an extra touch of comfort, ensuring we felt at home. During our stay, we found ourselves drawn to the hotel’s dining options, particularly the breakfast area overlooking the harbor. The expansive buffet featured an array of both local and international delicacies, and we couldn’t resist indulging in freshly prepared Indonesian dishes alongside a selection of pastries. The view was nothing short of spectacular, with boats gently bobbing in the water as the sun rose higher in the sky. In the evenings, the lobby bar transformed into a social hub, with live music creating an inviting atmosphere perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration. The pool area, framed by lush greenery, offered a refreshing respite, where we enjoyed the tranquil sounds of water gently cascading in the background. A subtle but memorable detail was the complimentary fruit-infused water offered poolside, enhancing our relaxation experience. Our concierge recommends requesting a room on a higher floor to fully appreciate the breathtaking views of the harbor and the cityscape beyond while enjoying the quietude that comes from being elevated above the hum of the streets. For the best experience, timing your visit for sunset at the lobby bar will reward you with a stunning display of colors across the sky, making for an unforgettable evening.

One of the highlights was breakfast, served on the 11th floor, in the evening, it transforms into a bar, night lounge, offering simple refreshments, beverages. From this vantage point, one can enjoy stunning cityscape, seascape views, taking in the Batam skyline. The breakfast area provides both indoor, outdoor seating options, the outdoor section affording an even better view, functioning as a designated smoking area.
The hotel also boasts a small pool on level 2, a gym equipped with a running track, cycling machine, making it a good choice for active guests.
As for breakfast, the variety remained largely consistent over our two mornings. Whilst they did not offer a dedicated American breakfast section, they did provide a station for eggs prepared to order (sunny-side up, scrambled, poached, etc.), another for Indonesian Indomie. The coffee was also agreeable. We observed that they did not employ any heating devices to maintain the food's warmth, resulting in most items being merely lukewarm, cold.
The room service was generally satisfactory. We left a note requesting a replenishment of coffee, tea provisions, they were promptly attended to. We noted that, whilst everything else was replaced, refreshed, our bath towels were not. Whilst it is possible this was an oversight, I would recommend that the hotel ensure that all towels are replaced during room make up, for optimal cleanliness, guest satisfaction.
Prospective guests should be aware that, owing to the proximity of a mosque, morning prayers can be heard, it may be a consideration for light sleepers. There are limited convenience shops immediately surrounding the hotel, the nearest one being approximately 300 metres away, requiring a short walk.
We must add, the hotel demonstrated exceptional service, offering us a late check out. They knew we needed to reach the ferry terminal by 2,30 pm, for our 4 pm ferry back to Singapore, they graciously extended our check-out time to 12,50 pm instead of the usual 12 pm. This thoughtful gesture allowed us to relax, enjoy our final morning, without feeling rushed, it truly enhanced our overall experience. It's these small details, they make a big difference, they show that the hotel genuinely cares about its guests' comfort, convenience.
Overall, we had a very agreeable, comfortable stay at Hotel Santika Batam. It is undeniably a family friendly hotel, we found everything to be pleasant, satisfactory. Knowing our need to reach the ferry at half past two, they offered us a late check out at ten to one instead of twelve, which was a very nice gesture. This level of attentiveness further solidifies my recommendation of Hotel Santika Batam, it is a truly excellent choice for travellers to Batam.
Rizki particularly is very helpful as F&B team when I asked for special request twice even he never hesitated to serve with heart. Keep up with the hospitable service, Rizki well done 👏
The service was excellent, especially from the reception staff. Darul was very friendly, professional, and helpful during check-in and throughout my stay. At the restaurant, Ronnie provided warm and attentive service, making breakfast and dining a pleasant experience.
The location is another big plus — it’s conveniently close to the ferry terminal and Mega Mall, making it easy to access shopping, food options, and massage places without needing long travel.
Overall, a great stay with friendly staff, good service, and a convenient location. I would gladly stay here again and recommend it to others visiting Batam.
