Upon entering I Hotel Baloi, the atmosphere is imbued with a sense of calm efficiency that sets the stage for a delightful stay. The lobby, an expansive space adorned with soft hues and sleek, contemporary furnishings, is punctuated by the gentle hum of conversations. The moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles from the attentive staff, their movements a rhythm of practiced hospitality that flows seamlessly throughout the space. A subtle fragrance of fresh flowers mingles with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafting from the Nutmeg Café, creating an inviting prelude to our experience. The architectural language of I Hotel Baloi is both modern and sophisticated, with clean lines and natural light filtering through large windows that offer glimpses of the vibrant Baloi district outside. As we explored the property, we were struck by the thoughtful integration of local art pieces that adorn the walls, each telling a story of the region’s rich culture. The hotel operates with a well-coordinated pace, where every moment feels considered—check-in was an effortless affair, allowing us to settle into our surroundings without delay. Our room was a sanctuary of tranquility, with plush bedding that embraced us and gentle light control that allowed us to create the perfect ambiance, whether basking in the soft morning glow or indulging in a quiet evening. The bathroom felt spacious yet intimate, featuring elegant finishes and a well-stocked array of premium toiletries that elevated the daily ritual of self-care. Thoughtful amenities, such as a well-placed work desk and complimentary bottled water, were a testament to the hotel’s commitment to providing a comfortable environment for both leisure and business travelers. During our stay, we found ourselves gravitating toward the social spaces, particularly the lobby bar, where the atmosphere shifted beautifully as the sun dipped below the horizon. The bartenders crafted signature cocktails with a flourish, showcasing their expertise as they mingled with guests, creating an easygoing yet sophisticated vibe. Dining at Nutmeg Café was a highlight; the breakfast spread was impressive, offering a delightful array of international and local options that cater to diverse palates. We savored each bite while soaking in the relaxed ambiance, perfect for leisurely mornings. For those seeking a balance of relaxation and exploration, the hotel’s strategic location near BCS Mall and Grand Batam Mall adds an extra layer of convenience. The nearby shops offer a glimpse into local life, making it easy for guests to immerse themselves in the culture of Batam. Our concierge recommends requesting a room on a higher floor for sweeping views of the bustling district below, ideally at sunset when the city is bathed in a golden glow. This small detail can elevate your stay, providing a serene backdrop to your evening unwind.

Room is spacious and clean, very comfortable for 2 nights.
Breakfast buffet provided for morning, decent breakfast with good variety of choices.
Security guards are very helpful and friendly when we are crossing the roads as there is no traffic light.
Just nearby got dry and wet market to purchase some snacks back.
Location is top notch, there is BCS mall ( which has the cheapest and biggest super market in my opinion), there is also batam grand mall (newer with lots of new shops). It is also around 10 mins to Nagoya hill shopping mall(older mall in batam). There is great dining option, the A2 food court is just beside.
Service was good also as well. Check in was very fast. Staffs were always courteous. Sadly couldn't secure a late check out, so standard check out time is at 12 pm, which is reasonable.
The buffet breakfast was excellent as well. So much variety and also has a live egg and noodles section.
Definitely more expensive than most hotels in batam. But i would choose to stay here should I come back again.
A special mention to the concierge—a tall and slim gentleman who has been working there since my very first visit many years ago. Although I didn’t manage to get his name, he has always been exceptionally friendly, helpful, and professional. His presence alone leaves a lasting impression.
The room is clean and tidy every day, which reflects the hotel’s good housekeeping standards.
Breakfast has improved compared to before, with more variety now available. However, there is still some room for improvement, particularly in terms of taste and keeping the food warmer.
Overall, it is always a pleasant stay, and I look forward to returning again. 😊
The breakfast spread is wide, and the food tastes really good. What impressed me most was that even when there were only about 10 minutes left before breakfast ended, the kitchen staff continued to top up the food, regardless of how many guests were still around. That level of service is rare.
Location-wise, the hotel is very close to Grand Batam Mall and another nearby mall (which I didn’t manage to visit). Both are within walking distance, but extra caution is needed when crossing the road, as local drivers tend to drive rather freely.
The room service was excellent, which honestly made me wonder whether this hotel is truly a 3-star property, because the service felt more like that of a higher-rated hotel.
