This was our experience at the Palace Hotel, a Luxury Collection property that stands as a testament to San Francisco’s storied past while embracing the refined artistry of modern hospitality. Upon our arrival, the grandeur of the lobby immediately enveloped us. Bathed in natural light from the expansive glass atrium overhead, the room was alive with the soft murmur of conversations, the gentle clink of glassware, and the occasional laughter echoing off the ornately painted ceilings. The exquisite floral arrangements—fresh, vibrant, and artfully arranged—added a tantalizing fragrance that lingered in the air, creating a warm welcome. As we ventured deeper into the hotel, the design language revealed itself as a blend of classic elegance and contemporary comfort. The marble floors gleamed underfoot, their polished surfaces reflecting the intricate chandeliers that hung like jewels. Two downsides is that the rooms are quite dark, so better lighting would have been ideal. I also ordered room service a few times and found it to be very pricey.
That said, the staff are friendly and I really liked the location. A great option if you’re looking for an elegant stay in the city!
We arrived on Saturday, December 20, and unfortunately there was no electricity at the hotel due to an incident, with the police present on site. We were extremely tired after a 12-hour flight from Paris and a 9-hour time difference. We were kindly relocated for the night, free of charge, to a nearby hotel.
I would like to sincerely and wholeheartedly thank Diana and Jelle for their incredible kindness. They did everything possible to make sure my son and I were taken care of and properly relocated. Thanks to them, we were able to return to the Palace Hotel the next morning.
I would also like to thank Shinetsu, the concierge, who was extremely helpful throughout our stay.
The hotel itself is magnificent, with a gigantic and beautiful Christmas tree. The Pied Piper restaurant is very good, and Camille, the hostess, was absolutely lovely. The gym and the swimming pool are also excellent.
Once again, a huge thank you to Diana, Jelle, and Shinatsu for their kindness and help during our stay. I have never met anyone so caring, attentive, and genuinely kind. Their generosity was truly incredible and made our stay unforgettable.

I am so happy with our decision! Vacations are never flawless, and while there was a small hiccup at check-in, what truly matters is how situations are handled. The management was polite and resolved the issue quickly. The manager was wonderful and a true testament to the hotel’s high level of service.
We enjoyed several experiences at The Garden Court, which is already stunning, and the Christmas décor made it feel truly magical. We attended both the Christmas Brunch and the Holiday Tea, and each was lovely.
The Palace is a beautiful hotel, and our suite was spacious and comfortable. Special thanks to the amazing housekeeping staff, who were always so helpful.
