At the Winnetu Oceanside Resort, the experience of relaxation begins long before you reach your room. Upon arrival, an inviting warmth radiates from the staff, who greet you with sincere smiles and a refreshing beverage—a welcome touch that instantly sets a friendly tone. The lobby, bathed in natural light streaming through large windows, offers a view of the lush grounds and glistening waters beyond, creating an airy ambiance reminiscent of a seaside sanctuary. The architecture seamlessly blends classic New England charm with modern elegance, featuring soft wood accents and nautical-inspired decor that whispers of coastal adventures. As we strolled through the property, we were struck by the meticulous attention to detail evident in every corner—from the carefully curated art pieces to the carefully maintained landscaping. The rhythm of the resort flows effortlessly; guests meander between the inviting pool area and the sandy beach just a short stroll away, where the gentle sound of waves provides a soothing soundtrack. The atmosphere shifts beautifully as the day progresses, transforming from a lively buzz of families enjoying the pool bar at lunchtime to a more subdued, intimate setting as evening approaches, perfect for a sunset cocktail. Our accommodations mirrored this thoughtful design philosophy. The room we occupied was a sanctuary of comfort, featuring soft linens and a plush mattress that invited restful nights. Strategically placed windows allowed gentle ocean breezes to filter in, while blackout curtains ensured a peaceful slumber at any hour. The bathroom, with its spa-like feel, showcased high-end fixtures and a deep soaking tub that beckoned for leisurely soaks after sun-soaked days. Small details, such as locally sourced toiletries and a well-stocked refreshment bar, added an extra layer of care to the experience, making us feel truly pampered. Dining at The Dunes was a highlight of our stay; the restaurant embodies a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. We found ourselves savoring fresh, locally inspired dishes while seated on the terrace, where the setting sun painted the sky in hues of orange and pink. The culinary team, led by Chef Richard, takes pride in crafting seasonal menus that showcase the best of the Vineyard’s bounty. For a casual yet delightful experience, the Pool Bar serves up fresh seafood and light bites, perfectly complemented by the sound of laughter and the clinking of glasses. Our concierge recommends requesting a room with an ocean view on a higher floor for the most breathtaking vistas, particularly at sunset, when the sky becomes a canvas of colors. This vantage point truly enhances the allure of the Winnetu, allowing you to soak in the tranquil beauty of Martha’s Vineyard from the comfort of your private space.

5 Reviews on “Winnetu Oceanside Resort”
We had the most incredible stay at the Winnetu Ocean Resort — a place that doesn’t just welcome you, it wraps you in a warm hug the moment you arrive.
What truly sets Winnetu apart is the *people*. The team feels like one big family, and their energy is infectious. You can tell they enjoy working together — it’s not just service, it’s genuine care. Everyone was kind, attentive, and full of good vibes, creating an atmosphere that’s both relaxed and really special.
The location is a dream, especially for families. It’s like a giant, safe playground where kids can roam freely — swimming in the pool, playing ping-pong, giant chess, foosball, cornhole… the list goes on. Our little one was in heaven enjoying Night Camps and the Activity Center.
The tennis courts are fantastic — a great spot whether you’re looking to improve your game or just hit balls with friends. Huge shout-out to **Cliff**, who heads the tennis program. He’s not just a great coach, he’s a walking dose of Canadian enthusiasm with world-traveler’s charm. The guy just makes the courts come alive.
There are also so many small, delightful touches that make Winnetu *Winnetu*: the vintage fire truck rides, the weekly clam bake picnic, the water taxi to Edgartown, and the daily 3–4pm cookies and lemonade (yes, it’s as good as it sounds).
And while there are too many wonderful staff members to name, a few really stood out:
* **Tim**, the concierge, who went above and beyond to make our stay seamless and memorable
* **Anthony** at the bar, who kept the drinks and the conversation flowing
* **Andy** from facilities, who was always around with a smile and a solution
And of course Cliff who is simply the bomb!
In short: Winnetu isn’t just a resort. It’s a place that captures the joy of a Vineyard summer — laid back, full of charm, and powered by people who clearly care about making your stay special. We’re already planning our next trip.
Tim at the Concierge was especially fantastic — incredibly helpful, friendly, and made us feel completely at home from the moment we arrived. The entire stay was seamless and relaxing.
I could go on and on, but all I’ll say is this: highly recommended, and I’m so grateful for the time we spent there.
Service sealed the deal on our recent visit. Our server, Liz, was the best: knowledgeable, attentive at the right moments, and genuinely warm. Between the ocean-adjacent setting, the polished but welcoming atmosphere, and a kitchen that’s clearly firing on all cylinders, the Winnetu is an easy recommendation for both resort guests and island locals looking for a great meal.
