A well-executed stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru exemplifies the art of hospitality, where every detail is designed to create a seamless experience for guests. Upon entering, the lobby exudes a sense of contemporary elegance, with its high ceilings and polished marble floors reflecting the warm, inviting glow of strategically placed lighting. The subtle scent of freshly baked cookies wafts through the air, a signature welcome that speaks volumes about the attention to detail here. The staff, impeccably trained, seem to glide through the space—each interaction is marked by genuine smiles and a readiness to assist, setting a tone of comfort and care that permeates the entire property. As we explored the common areas, the atmosphere shifted gently throughout the day. In the morning, the lobby buzzed with the energy of guests heading for breakfast, while the sound of laughter and clinking glasses in the bar at twilight hinted at the vibrant social scene unfolding. The hotel’s design strikes a balance between modern flair and local culture, with thoughtful touches in the decor that pay homage to Malaysian heritage. The spacious seating areas invite guests to linger, whether for a casual chat or to enjoy a moment of solitude with a book. Our King bedroom suite provided a sanctuary of comfort, with expansive windows allowing natural light to pour in, creating a tranquil ambiance. The bedding was enveloping, offering a perfect night’s sleep, while the well-appointed bathroom, complete with a deep soaking tub, beckoned for leisurely evenings. Thoughtful amenities such as bottled water, a minibar, and ample workspace made it easy to settle in and feel at home. We appreciated the quietude of the room, making it an ideal environment for both relaxation and productivity. Dining at the hotel is a delight, particularly in the evening when the restaurant transforms into a culinary haven. We indulged in a late-night briyani that was nothing short of delectable, showcasing the chef’s skill in marrying local flavors with international flair. Breakfast, served in a spacious dining area, features a splendid array of options, ensuring that every palate is catered to. For those inclined to explore beyond the hotel, the surrounding neighborhood offers a glimpse into Johor Bahru’s vibrant culture, albeit with some construction work nearby that requires a bit of navigation. However, the hotel’s complimentary parking is a convenient perk for those with vehicles. Our concierge recommends requesting a room on the upper floors for the best views of the city skyline, especially during sunset, when the hues of dusk cast a magical glow over the landscape. This added perspective, combined with the attentiveness of the staff, ensures an experience that lingers long after your stay.

There are some road/construction works around but doesnt make it any inconvenient to move around. We still managed to work to Komtar Shopping Centre and City Square Mall.
We didn't book this time with breakfast as we can get some great local food across the road. Not fancy but does the job.
Oh…you still get a warm wallnut cookie per guest upon check-in.
Keep up the great work!
Nothing nearby. Only good thing is that there is a good massage called Swan Reflexology right beside. Walk out from main entrance turn right, walk down and then right again at the traffic light.
Good Italian restaurant at L13.
Pool was under maintainence.
Walking distance to city square.
The warm cookie at check-in is a nice touch. I had a great stay at this hotel and indulged in a late night briyani in the hotel restaurant which was delicious.
The staff seem happy and their service is very on-point. The fit-out is carefully maintained which seems a universal challenge for hotels – all the staff clearly have pride in their work.
Location is near CIQ, nice malls as well as traditional shop houses. A few hundred metres down the road there's both hipsterish cafés and traditional eateries.
A very clean room, no damp or humid feeling.
