The moment we arrived at Claude Hotel, we were enveloped by the rich aroma of jasmine and sandalwood that wafted through the air, setting an inviting tone for our stay. The lobby, bathed in soft, diffused lighting, features an elegant blend of modern design and traditional influences, with local artwork adorning the walls and lush greenery peeking through expansive windows. The decor harmoniously reflects the vibrant energy of Chinatown, a vibrant backdrop that pulses with life just beyond the hotel’s doors. As we settled into the lobby, we observed the seamless choreography of staff moving subtly through the space, their warm smiles and attentive gestures embodying the essence of mindful hospitality. Each interaction felt personal, from the moment we were welcomed with a refreshing drink to the thoughtful touches that accompanied our check-in. The atmosphere shifted gently with the rhythm of the day; it was tranquil in the early hours, yet filled with a lively buzz as the afternoon unfolded, echoing the energy of the surrounding neighborhood. Our room, though compact, was a masterclass in efficient design, exuding a sense of calm with its muted color palette and clever use of space. The plush queen-size bed beckoned with luxurious linens, while the large windows allowed natural light to flood in, creating an airy ambiance. We appreciated the thoughtful amenities, such as the complimentary minibar stocked with local snacks and beverages, which further enhanced our experience. The bathroom, adorned with natural stone and elegant fixtures, felt like a sanctuary; the rainfall shower invigorated the senses, and the gentle scent of organic toiletries lingered long after our morning routine. During our stay, we found ourselves drawn to the hotel’s communal spaces, particularly the lobby bar, where we unwound with expertly crafted cocktails in the early evening. The dimmed lights and smooth jazz created a cozy atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration. The bar staff, eager to share their knowledge of local spirits, recommended a delightful gin infused with local herbs—a standout moment that felt uniquely Singaporean. Claude Hotel’s location is an undeniable advantage; just a short walk from the bustling streets of Chinatown, we found ourselves surrounded by an array of charming cafes, vibrant market stalls, and historical shophouses. Exploring the neighborhood felt like an adventure, with the promise of hidden delights around every corner. Our concierge recommends requesting a room on the upper floors for the best views of the city’s skyline, particularly at sunset when the soft glow of the evening light dances across the rooftops. Additionally, don’t miss the opportunity to engage with the concierge team upon arrival—they are a wealth of knowledge and can curate experiences that will make your stay truly memorable.

First, the location is unbeatable. From Maxwell MRT Station (Exit 3) it’s literally just a 300-meter walk—super easy even with luggage. The hotel sits right in the middle of Chinatown/Maxwell area, which means:
• 5–10 mins by MRT / short walk to popular places like Merlion Park, Bugis, and Chijmes
• Maxwell Food Centre is just around the corner – perfect for cheap, good local food
• Chinatown is nearby if you need souvenirs or snacks
• Within walking distance to Sri Mariamman Temple (the oldest Hindu temple in Singapore) and several historical spots around the Chinatown heritage area
The surroundings are full of cafés, bars, and restaurants, but surprisingly, on weekdays the neighborhood feels calm and quiet. So you get the perfect combo: fun + privacy.
What truly elevated my stay was the hospitality.
Qistina upgraded my room, and I swear I felt like bowing in gratitude. The room was clean, cozy, and had that fresh modern-minimalist vibe. The staff were consistently warm and helpful, and not in that forced customer-service kind of way—just genuinely nice.
Highlights / Key Points:
• 🚇 300m from Maxwell MRT Exit 3
• 🍜 Surrounded by good food (Maxwell Food Centre is a must!)
• 🛍️ Chinatown nearby for souvenirs
• 🕌 Close to cultural spots like Sri Mariamman Temple
• 🌆 Easy access to Merlion, Bugis, and Chijmes
• 🌙 Quiet on weekdays despite being near bars/restaurants
• 💛 Exceptional hospitality — shoutout to Qistina for the room upgrade!
Overall: 10/10 would definitely stay again.
The hotel itself is so charming — cozy, stylish, intimate, and beautifully designed. I felt completely at home here.
The location is absolutely fantastic. It’s so easy to get around anywhere in the city, and the surrounding area is wonderful to walk through with so many restaurants and great food options nearby. Maxwell Hawker Centre is just around the corner, which was amazing and became one of my favorite places to eat during my stay.
I’ve heard some people mention light or noise from outside in the street-facing rooms, but honestly, I didn’t find it to be a problem at all. You can hear a bit of the city’s life and energy from the bars below, but it never went too late or felt overwhelming. As for the light, I simply tilted the wooden slat blinds upwards and it blocked most of it, leaving a soft, cozy ambient glow. And for anyone extra sensitive, there are rooms facing the other side that likely won’t have this at all.
One of my absolute favorite parts of the stay was the bedding. The sheets were incredibly soft and luxurious, and the pillows were perfect — there were two different types with different thicknesses, and both were amazing. I slept so well every night.
If management sees this, I would love to know the brand of the bedding and pillows you use, or where I can purchase them. I’d also love to know the exact pillow thickness options because they were truly perfect!
All in all, I was absolutely thrilled with my choice to stay here. Claude Hotel made my trip feel extra meaningful and memorable, and I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Singapore. ❤️
I would say the rooms are tiny but will provide what you need (i.e. privacy, a super good rain shower, comfy bed, very clean rooms). It would definitely be a squeeze for two people, felt more comfortable in the room while I was staying by myself. I’ve stayed in three different rooms so far and felt I liked the Deluxe Double Room the best.
I would not recommend this hotel to someone looking for a more spacey resting area. Unfortunately, space would come at a cost in Singapore, thus you’ll have to look into a more pricey place to stay. This is definitely better for solo travelers, looking for privacy and a clean, minimalist, comfortable place to rest.
I really liked that the hotel has ensured that service is well and everyone has been very helpful and kind. So far out of all my three visits, I’ve only had a bad impression on one staff.
Special shout out to Michelle and Shahrul for making my stay a warm and welcoming one! ☺️ Will definitely be back if I’m looking to have a night out in the CBD area.
If you’re deciding between Kinn Studios or Claude, I’ll definitely go with Claude 💛.
The staff are very attentive with communication and made our stay special by assisting with arranging a cake delivery and storage for a birthday surprise. They even gifted my partner with a small dessert.
What made me decide on Claude Hotel was the info on Agoda's website that the hotel has been recently remodeled last year, so I figured that though the room might be small and the cost pretty high, staying in a newer, cleaner, fresh design room helps to justify the higher cost a little easier.
We were most impressed with the convenient location to Maxwell and Outram Park metro stations which made getting around town a lot more convenient.
The room was small and we had the room without windows, which made it more quiet and peaceful, perfect for sleeping in, in the mornings (think blackout curtains). But the facilities are very new and modern and the staff was quiet friendly from check-in to check-out.
The hotel does have a modern washer and dryer that is available to guests for free and they include detergent for your use catching up with laundry. This was an unexpected and pleasant surprise.
The 12:00 noon check out time was a little later than most other hotels we looked at and they do offer a luggage hold service after check out so that you can enjoy the city if while leaving your luggage at the hotel when you have a later departing flight.
All in all, we felt glad to find this place and enjoyed the 3 night stay and would definitely stay here again next time we're visiting Singapore.
