Profile
As the sun began its descent over the Singapore skyline, the atmosphere inside Quenino transformed from the vibrant buzz of late afternoon to a more intimate evening ambiance. The bar program, spearheaded by an innovative mixologist, was a delightful prelude to our culinary experience. Each cocktail, meticulously crafted, was a sensory exploration—one sip of the basil-infused gin concoction transported us to a lush garden, while the fragrant notes of lemongrass danced on our palates, hinting at the culinary narrative that was about to unfold. Upon entering, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, their genuine enthusiasm palpable as they guided us to our table. The soft glow of pendant lights cast a warm, inviting ambiance, complemented by the gentle hum of conversation and the occasional clink of glasses.
The décor—a blend of contemporary elegance and subtle Southeast Asian motifs—created a sophisticated yet relaxed environment, making it easy to settle in and soak up the evening’s offerings. As we perused the menu curated by Chef Sujatha Asokan, we noted the thoughtful reimagining of traditional flavors. Each dish promised a journey, evoking nostalgia while boldly pushing the boundaries of familiar tastes. The first course, a meticulous arrangement of grilled octopus with sambal and coconut foam, was a standout, showcasing the chef’s deft touch. The octopus was charred to perfection, its tender texture contrasting beautifully with the vibrant spice of the sambal, a dish that both invigorated and comforted. The pacing of the meal felt effortless, allowing us to savor each course while engaging in conversation.
Our attentive server, knowledgeable yet unobtrusive, shared the inspiration behind each dish, enriching our experience. The entrée—a beautifully plated rendition of beef rendang, accompanied by fragrant jasmine rice and pickled vegetables—was a true celebration of Southeast Asian culinary heritage, with layers of flavor that unfolded with each bite. The beef melted in our mouths, a testament to the hours of slow cooking that had gone into its preparation. As the evening deepened, we found ourselves lingering, captivated by the atmosphere and the array of flavors dancing on our tongues. The dessert, a playful twist on traditional kueh, was a delightful finale—a composition of pandan mousse paired with a tart mango gel, each element harmonizing to create a refreshing conclusion to our meal. Our concierge recommends reserving a table during the golden hour to fully appreciate the transformation of Quenino’s ambiance as the day fades into night, and don’t miss the opportunity to indulge in the chef’s seasonal specials that capture the essence of Singapore’s vibrant culinary landscape.

Quenino is my first local/singapore fusion dining experience. I am more than surprise by Quenino and feels proud how our local cusine element are represented in the fine dining scent. Almost every course is great (love the green lip abalone) but i regret finishing the flatbread and not leaving enough room to fully appreciate the main course. I am pretty sure i will be back again.
