Profile
At Cappadocia Turkish Restaurant, the rhythm of the evening begins with a glass of velvety red wine, poured with a flourish by attentive staff who exude both warmth and professionalism. The wine list, thoughtfully curated, features selections that beautifully complement the robust flavors of Turkish cuisine. As we settled into our table, the soft glow of ambient lighting and the artfully arranged décor — traditional Turkish textiles mingling with modern touches — set a welcoming tone, inviting us to indulge in the culinary treasures that awaited. We were immediately drawn to the vibrant meze platter, an exquisite array of dips, including a velvety hummus and a tangy, herb-laden baba ghanoush that practically beckoned for a piece of warm, house-made flatbread.
The soundscape, a gentle murmur of conversation mixed with the occasional clink of glasses, created an intimate atmosphere, allowing us to savor each bite without interruption. The meticulous attention to detail was evident not just in the presentation but also in the flavors, which felt honest and true to their roots. Guests often remark on the generous portions, and we found ourselves pleasantly surprised by the bounty on our plates—each item a celebration of Turkish culinary tradition. As we transitioned to the main course, we marveled at the succulent lamb chops and the grilled Adana lamb kebab, both grilled to perfection and infused with fragrant spices that danced on the palate. The meats were expertly charred, with a smoky depth that harmonized beautifully with the fresh salads and fragrant rice served alongside.
The service remained impeccable throughout, with staff anticipating our needs, ensuring our glasses were never empty, and sharing insights about the dishes with genuine enthusiasm. As the evening wore on, the ambiance shifted subtly; the lighting dimmed slightly, and the music took on a softer, more melodic tone, enhancing the cozy atmosphere. A standout moment for us was the arrival of the baklava, a sweet conclusion to the meal that was both flaky and indulgent, paired with a fragrant apple tea that felt like a warm embrace. Our concierge recommends visiting Cappadocia during the early evening, when you can fully appreciate the nuanced flavors of the meze while absorbing the vibrant atmosphere. Be sure to request a spot near the window to enjoy the bustling energy of Kampong Glam while savoring the authentic taste of Turkey.

Shish Tawook
The chicken came in generous chunks — nicely charred on the outside, juicy inside. You can taste the marinade: a clear hit of lemon, garlic and yoghurt doing their job without overpowering the meat. The grilling gave it that slightly smoky edge that makes Shish Tawook so satisfying. It’s simple, but when done right like this, it’s one of the most comforting bites you can have.
Hummus
The hummus was smooth without being overly whipped, still carrying a bit of texture from the chickpeas. You get that nutty warmth, balanced with tahini and a mild garlic finish. The drizzle of olive oil on top wasn’t just decoration — you could taste the freshness. Great to scoop with warm bread and perfect as the “start of the meal anchor.”
Tabbouleh
Bright and refreshing. Plenty of fresh parsley, not drowned by the bulgur, and the lemon was punchy in a good way. The tomatoes were diced small, which helped keep everything balanced instead of soggy. It’s the kind of tabbouleh that wakes up your palate — a clean, zesty counterpoint to the grilled items.
Moutabbal
A standout. Smoky, creamy, and with that slightly earthy sweetness you only get when the eggplant is properly fire-roasted. The tahini and garlic are present but not heavy-handed. It pairs beautifully with the Turkish bread and has this deep, comforting flavour that makes you keep going back for another scoop.
Overall, it’s one of those places where the food doesn’t need theatrics — the flavours speak for themselves. If you want solid, well-prepared Turkish and Mediterranean dishes in Singapore without the fuss, this spot does it right.
