Profile
The essence of Aleeya lies in its steadfast commitment to the heart of Malay-Indo cuisine, where every dish tells a story rich with tradition and heritage. As we entered this charming establishment, set within the inviting confines of the Wanderlust boutique hotel, we were immediately greeted by the fragrant wafts of spices mingling in the air—a promise of the culinary journey that awaited us. The ambiance was a harmonious blend of modern design and cultural warmth, with natural light pouring in through expansive windows, casting a gentle glow over the polished wooden tables and traditional textiles that adorned the walls. Seated at a cozy table, we were enveloped by a delightful murmur of conversation, punctuated by the occasional clink of glasses.
The rhythm of service here is as fluid as the dishes themselves; attentive yet unobtrusive, the staff exuded a genuine passion for the culinary arts. Our server presented the menu with enthusiasm, inviting us to explore the intricacies of each dish. We opted for the Campur-Campur Platter, a feast that promised a vibrant array of flavors. As the platter arrived, we marveled at the visual appeal—tiger prawns glistening with a charred, smoky hue, delicate squid kissed by the grill, and a succulent lamb rack that beckoned us with its aroma. Every bite was an experience to savor; the lamb was tender, its flavor enhanced by the subtle spices that evoke the warmth of a family kitchen. The grilled meats were accompanied by a variety of traditional condiments that added layers of complexity—each dollop of sambal or sprinkle of fresh herbs a testament to Aleeya’s dedication to authenticity.
We found ourselves lingering over the dishes, enjoying not just the food but the stories they carried from the chef’s heritage to our plates. The beverage program complemented the meal seamlessly, offering a curated selection of wines and traditional drinks that perfectly paired with the bold flavors of Malay-Indo cuisine. As evening descended, the atmosphere shifted softly, the lighting dimming just enough to create a cozy intimacy, inviting guests to relax and relish in the moment. The soundscape transformed as well, with soft music providing a gentle backdrop to the laughter and conversation. Our concierge recommends reserving a table during sunset to fully appreciate the enchanting transition from day to evening, and don’t miss the chance to indulge in the Ikan Bakar Bali, a signature dish that captures the spirit of the region beautifully. Aleeya is not just about dining; it’s an invitation to connect with the rich tapestry of Malay-Indo culinary tradition.

Was there at 4pm before dinner crowd comes it. Only 3 tables were occupied. Very nice ambience!
The space feels cool, comfortable & filled with natural light … perfect for our relaxed afternoon tea. We tried the Basque cheesecake and pavlova (similar to meringue); both were really good and not overly sweet. Such a lovely place … we’ll definitely be back to try their mains.
We ordered the Campur Campur Mixed Platter featuring tiger prawns, fresh whole squid, lamb rack (French cap on), and 180 day grass fed Angus striploin, grilled over wood fired coals and served with sambal hijau and totok Jawa. Everything was heavenly and full of umami. The sambals were perfectly balanced and elevated each protein. The prawns were juicy, the lamb rack succulent, the steak tender, and the squid paired beautifully with the sauces. Every element felt thoughtfully done and just right.
Dessert sealed the experience. The pandan crepe with coconut, fresh cream, grated gula melaka, and vanilla bean ice cream was soft, fragrant, lightly sweet, and beautifully textured. It complemented the meal perfectly without being overpowering.
The best way to describe the experience was what my wife said after the last bite. “It makes me think of the next time I can come back.” Haha
That says it all. We will definitely be returning.
