Light filters through expansive windows, casting delicate patterns across the floor that shift as the sun arcs through the sky, creating an ever-evolving canvas that invites exploration. Our arrival was marked by a seamless check-in process, executed with a level of attentiveness that felt both genuine and unobtrusive. The staff, impeccably uniformed yet warm in demeanor, anticipated our needs with a finesse that elevated the experience. As we settled into the lobby’s plush seating, it became clear that this space was designed for both relaxation and connection. The scent of fresh flowers mingled with the aroma of artisanal coffee wafting from the adjacent café, creating an inviting atmosphere that beckoned us to linger. Transitioning to our room in the Tower Wing revealed an intimate sanctuary defined by understated luxury. The ambiance shifted to one of serenity, with muted tones and soft textures enveloping us. Thick curtains ensured a cocoon-like darkness, perfect for an afternoon siesta, while the carefully curated lighting offered a warm, inviting glow in the evening. Thoughtful amenities, like a well-stocked minibar and a range of plush bedding options, enhanced the feeling of being at home in this remarkable setting. The bathroom, a spa-like haven, featured marble finishes and a deep soaking tub, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the vibrant streets of Orchard Road. Dining at Shangri-La is an experience in itself. The Line, with its eclectic buffet, offers a feast for the senses, showcasing culinary delights from across the globe. The ambiance here is lively, especially during breakfast, where families gather, and the sound of laughter fills the air. Our evenings were often spent at the Origin Bar, where the low lighting and expertly crafted cocktails created an intimate setting for unwinding. A standout moment was indulging in the bar’s signature drink, a refreshing concoction that perfectly complemented the sultry Singaporean nights. As we strolled through the hotel’s lush gardens, we were reminded that this property is not just a hotel, but a sanctuary amid the urban pulse of Singapore. The pool area, framed by swaying palm trees, exudes a relaxed vibe, ideal for leisurely afternoons spent soaking up the sun. Our concierge recommends requesting a room on the higher floors of the Tower Wing for sweeping views of the city skyline, particularly stunning at sunset. The Horizon Club access adds an extra layer of exclusivity, offering a serene lounge space perfect for private meetings or quiet mornings with a view.

A special mention to a few staff. Dharshni at the meet and greet — her kindness and professionalism immediately set the tone for our stay. The level of service and genuine conversation from Raja, Wee, and Dheenu was outstanding. They took the time to truly get to know each of us, from our food and drink preferences to our lives and travels, which made us feel exceptionally warm and welcomed.
The value of the Valley Wing package was exceptional. The high tea, canapés, and unlimited refreshments were of an incredibly high standard and simply unbeatable.
Our farewell perfectly summed up the experience — we felt like royalty, with a team of five staff members assisting us with an immaculately organised taxi and warmly waving us off.
An outstanding stay and without a doubt the best hotel experience we have ever had as a family. We cannot wait to return.
Our room was fantastic — spacious, beautifully appointed, and with a lovely balcony overlooking the pool. Waking up to that serene view every morning was a highlight in itself.
The kids had an amazing time at the water play zone and the pool, and it became our favourite part of each day. The relaxing ambience around the hotel made the entire stay feel like a proper holiday getaway.
Food was outstanding throughout — the buffet breakfast was exceptional, we enjoyed wonderful meals at the Waterfall restaurant and the poolside restaurant, and even the in-room dining was top-notch.
Overall, this was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable family holidays we’ve had. Shangri-La Singapore delivers on every front with superb hospitality, great facilities, and a truly luxurious environment. A solid 5-star experience that we would gladly return to.
