The bar at Winnetu Oceanside Resort is more than a mere gathering place; it’s a vibrant expression of the local landscape, where seasonal ingredients come together in exquisite cocktails that mirror the charm of Edgartown’s coastal elegance. As we settled into the inviting ambiance of the resort’s lounge, the mixologist expertly crafted a refreshing cucumber and basil cocktail that danced on the palate, its bright notes echoing the sun-drenched summer afternoons. The bar’s polished wooden surfaces gleamed softly under the warm glow of hanging lights, each flicker creating a sense of intimacy as guests exchanged stories and laughter. During our stay, we found ourselves drawn to the culinary artistry showcased in the resort’s signature restaurant, where each dish is a celebration of the region’s bountiful produce and freshly caught seafood. The open kitchen, flanked by a marble countertop, invited us into the process, the gentle clinking of pots and pans creating a rhythmic backdrop to our dining experience. A standout moment for us was the succulent whole roasted lobster, beautifully presented and infused with fragrant herbs that transported us to a sunlit seaside feast. Each bite was a harmonious blend of sweetness and brininess, beautifully complemented by a carefully selected glass of local Chardonnay. As we explored the property at different times of the day, we noticed how the atmosphere shifted gracefully from the sun’s warm embrace to the cool, serene twilight. Mornings were punctuated by the soft sounds of waves lapping against the shore, while evenings brought a magical hush, perfect for savoring the sunset from the resort’s accessible beach. The soft sand beneath our feet and the salty breeze in the air created a blissful sense of tranquility that lingered long after the day had faded. The accommodations at Winnetu are a study in understated luxury, offering spacious suites adorned with coastal-inspired décor. We were particularly enchanted by the oversized windows that framed stunning views of the ocean, allowing natural light to flood the space. Each room is a carefully curated sanctuary, featuring plush bedding and thoughtfully chosen artworks that reflect the local landscape. The gentle sound of surf provided a soothing soundtrack as we drifted off to sleep, wrapped in the comfort of a well-appointed retreat. A subtle but memorable detail was the evening turndown service, where the staff thoughtfully left a small, handwritten note alongside a local sweet treat, elevating the experience into something truly personal. This attention to detail exemplifies the welcoming spirit that permeates every corner of the resort. Our concierge recommends requesting a suite with a direct ocean view for the most breathtaking sunrise experiences, and be sure to indulge in the evening cocktail hour at the bar to truly appreciate the resort’s vibrant atmosphere.

We had the most incredible stay at the Winnetu Ocean Resort — a place that doesn’t just welcome you, it wraps you in a warm hug the moment you arrive.
What truly sets Winnetu apart is the *people*. The team feels like one big family, and their energy is infectious. You can tell they enjoy working together — it’s not just service, it’s genuine care. Everyone was kind, attentive, and full of good vibes, creating an atmosphere that’s both relaxed and really special.
The location is a dream, especially for families. It’s like a giant, safe playground where kids can roam freely — swimming in the pool, playing ping-pong, giant chess, foosball, cornhole… the list goes on. Our little one was in heaven enjoying Night Camps and the Activity Center.
The tennis courts are fantastic — a great spot whether you’re looking to improve your game or just hit balls with friends. Huge shout-out to **Cliff**, who heads the tennis program. He’s not just a great coach, he’s a walking dose of Canadian enthusiasm with world-traveler’s charm. The guy just makes the courts come alive.
There are also so many small, delightful touches that make Winnetu *Winnetu*: the vintage fire truck rides, the weekly clam bake picnic, the water taxi to Edgartown, and the daily 3–4pm cookies and lemonade (yes, it’s as good as it sounds).
And while there are too many wonderful staff members to name, a few really stood out:
* **Tim**, the concierge, who went above and beyond to make our stay seamless and memorable
* **Anthony** at the bar, who kept the drinks and the conversation flowing
* **Andy** from facilities, who was always around with a smile and a solution
And of course Cliff who is simply the bomb!
In short: Winnetu isn’t just a resort. It’s a place that captures the joy of a Vineyard summer — laid back, full of charm, and powered by people who clearly care about making your stay special. We’re already planning our next trip.
Tim at the Concierge was especially fantastic — incredibly helpful, friendly, and made us feel completely at home from the moment we arrived. The entire stay was seamless and relaxing.
I could go on and on, but all I’ll say is this: highly recommended, and I’m so grateful for the time we spent there.
Service sealed the deal on our recent visit. Our server, Liz, was the best: knowledgeable, attentive at the right moments, and genuinely warm. Between the ocean-adjacent setting, the polished but welcoming atmosphere, and a kitchen that’s clearly firing on all cylinders, the Winnetu is an easy recommendation for both resort guests and island locals looking for a great meal.
